Tonight is the night...the beginning. All our preparation has come to this! I am so excited to see what God is going to do. I am already amazed at what He has orchestrated in the preparation. I also know that when things are productive in the life of the church, there is usually opposition as well. Yesterday my lower back began to hurt-really bad for no reason. It has been quite debilitating, especially with a one year old to chase. I have been applying lots of heat in hopes it will help and have been praying that I will be able to endure the pain enough to get through tonight.
I was reading in my Quite Time this morning and Oswald Chambers said something in My Utmost for His Highest that really reassured me. "If a man or woman is called of God, it doesn't matter how difficult the circumstances may be. God orchestrates every force at work for His purpose in the end. If you will agree with God's purpose, He will bring not only your conscious levels but all the deeper levels of your life, which you yourself cannot reach, into perfect harmony."
I Corinthians 15:58
"Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."
What reassurance!! Let nothing move me-not even back pain. Stand firm. Your labor is not in vain.
We have been building relationships and organizing our Explore Group for so long. I can't wait to see what God does tonight!
So my husband is a church planter and I am a stay at home mom with two children. Join me on my journey as I try to figure out church planting and motherhood. This could get interesting!!!

Explore Group
So this Wednesday our "church" is having what we call an Explore Group. It is a comfortable, relaxed setting where those who are hesitant about Christianity can explore Christianity and learn about the one true God. I keep realizing more and more that this event is fully reliant on God to be a success. There are way too many factors that can potentially interfere with people learning about God.
As I had my quiet time this morning I was reading in My Utmost for His Highest and Oswald Chambers wrote, "God does not ask us to do things that are naturally easy for us-He only asks us to do the things that we are perfectly fit to do through His grace.." Wow! As I first read it I was thinking things that we do things through His grace. Not alone.....through His grace. I will not be able to do this on my own-it is through his grace. It is almost a relief for me because I don't have to do this alone! As I read over it a couple more times a couple words before that jumped out at me, "that we are perfectly fit to do." Wow again! God asks me to do things that I am perfectly fit to do. I may not feel that way, but He knows better than I and knows that it is a perfect fit!!
As I think about our Explore Group I am so excited to know God picked me for this task and it is a perfect fit and to see what God is going to do through his grace!! I will keep you posted!!

Our Church-insideout church
My husband and I moved to Fort Collins in June of 2009 to plant a church here among the college age and young adults. Nate has always wanted to be a church planter and chose North America when he was in Seminary. When we got married I was a little hesitant about the role as a Church Planter Wife, but could see how God had been preparing me as I was serving in the local church to be in a position of leadership. The calling quickly became clear for me as well and I became very excited to be a part of this new adventure.
Our church is called insideout church and we have yet to meet. We do not have a building or a meeting time but we are working and watching God at work in mighty ways. We are in the process of building relationships with those people who are interested in God here in Fort Collins. We meet with people one on one or in small groups of friends. We meet with people at coffee shops, restaurants, parks, our apartment, our clubhouse, softball fields, basketball courts, hiking, hunting, fishing, ice fishing, sight seeing and any other place where the opportunity arises. Unlike many people we do not believe that being abrasive, forceful or confrontational is productive. We prefer to build relationships and gently share Christ through love and compassion and hopefully help heal hurts and misconceptions about Christianity.
We are in the process of planning our first big group-Explore Group. This group will be a group of people who want to explore Christianity. We are going to have a meal, watch a video on who Jesus was and other similar topics and then open it up for table discussion. The people at the tables are welcome to express their opinions and beliefs regardless of what they are and even if they don't agree with the video. We hope to share the truth with them and help them get past their barriers so they can hear the truth and judge Christianity fairly and without past hurts and misconceptions. We are so excited to see what God is going to do and how he is going to use this even to reach those around us.
